Open Arms supports people in our community who sometimes lack the most basic needs for survival and well being. Our goal is to help meet the immediate needs of those finding themselves in the unfortunate situation of being on the street, hungry, lonely and vulnerable.
Open Arms relies on volunteers in many areas. Open Arms volunteers fill various roles from meal preparation to helping out with our furniture bank and volunteering at our Open Arms Thrift Store.
Open Arms will always need volunteers to ensure that the mission and vision of the organization keeps going on full speed. We consider our volunteer team to be one of our valuable assets and without them Open Arms would not be able to achieve our goals and objectives.
Volunteering and giving back to your community is one of the most rewarding experiences individual can have. Volunteers help others grow, develop, and learn new skills. Volunteers listen and communicate, providing understanding and friendship to those in need. Volunteers know the joy of helping others, and understand that if everyone did just a little bit, the world would be a better place for all. Everyone has skills and hidden talents that could be used to help others. How could your skills and talents help Open Arms? Just ask us. There is room for all.
Become a Volunteer
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, the process is simple. Complete the required forms and record checks, and drop in for an interview and tour. Your talents and skills will be matched to a volunteer role within our programs. If you have specific requests or want a learning opportunity, we would be more than happy to discuss that with you as well.
